Creativity is the invention of a solution to a challenge-or so HCS Construction Services Company perceives design. In the remodeling world, all projects are do-able with innovative ideas. HCS Construction Services Company projects are not cookie-cutter identifiable. Each project is tailored to the client's needs and tastes as well as to the architectural style of their home.
However, HCS Construction Services Company carries the creative design further by ensuring the practical usefulness of each project.
The result… innovative, customized and user-pleasing creations.

Informal Formalizing
|
Situation: Kitchen work area in direct view from entry and living room.
Result: Screen kitchen with a customized 3-sided divider which provides wine storage and work area, display storage and eating bar. The design of the entry portal also complements the kitchen divider and provides additional storage.

Detailed Designs
|
Situation: Large, open encompassing entry, living room and stairwell lacked cohesiveness and personality.
Result: Unify design details by customizing and coordinating the hardwood floor inlay with the entry door, fireplace and banister millwork. Fluting on exterior entry pillars coordinates with interior entry, newel post, and fireplace columns. Star design and wood species choice is repeated in floor inset and on newel posts.

NW Hearths At Home
|
Situation:" Northwest fireplaces vary in size, finish and surround materials but they are often nondescript.
Result: Changing the surrounding material and adding custom millwork, as seen in these photos, adds visual warmth and style to any hearth.
|
|
Good Time Cooking
|
Situation: Traditional bungalow with a tiny, outdated kitchen area.
Result: Incorporate the back porch to utilize every foot of space and accommodate today's kitchen requirements. This kitchen features a commercial-style range and sink, eating bar, wine storage, baking center and garden window.
The original house style is complemented, not compromised, by using customized millwork to match window, door and base trim. The millwork also upgrades the stock cabinets. Tile counters and obscure glass cabinet doors suggest an earlier era with timeless appeal.

|
Kitchen - Organized and Modern
Result: A well-lighted, functional kitchen with commercial style range, spice and cookware
storage, solid surface countertops and efficient, multi-prep areas.
|
|
Livable Art
|
Situation: Natural light on three sides magnifies original construction flaws in the various heights, angles and finishes of a large open area in an uncompleted project.
Result: HCS Construction Services Company master craftspeople perfected the drywall, paint, millwork and floor finishes. A comprehensive interior design created an integrated space capable of serving the owners' varied interests. Final picture - happy clients in a completed, livable, aesthetic work of art.

Italianate Special
|
Situation: Narrow, almost functionless master bath on two levels due to the stairwell header under the bath.
Result: This Italian-style bath creation won a national award based on unique design and customized craftsmanship.
The project incorporates the clients' heights, reach and statures with the space allotments. A glass elevated shower with skylight and bench conceals, yet utilizes, the stairwell space; the angled handrail serves as a towel holder in the shower; the platformed pedestal sink adds height for the tall owners and the five lighted mirror medicine cabinets behind the sink and the shelving behind the full size jetted tub provide storage. The ceiling fan has its own temperature control to counter sunlight from the skylight. The tub controls are in the wall and a coiled shower spray is recessed in the tub deck..

Universal Design-And Appeal
|
Situation: Accessibility is a design function best incorporated before necessity regardless of age.
Result: As seen in this standard looking bath, handicapped usage is aided by under sink cabinet doors that swing inward to accommodate a wheelchair, insulated plumbing pipes, low height electrical and wide doorway / corridor space.
